Winter

A story by Michael Mascarin

Once upon a time, a father and mother and their three kids, John, Victor and Daniel lived in the country side. Their last name was Brian. Their house broke down. There was a tornado which brought their house down.

They had to live outside in the cold winter. They had to build beds out of sticks and bark. They pulled five sleeping bags out of their car and spread them over the beds of sticks.

Then they went to sleep without dinner even though they were very hungry. It was bitter cold. They had weird feelings. Their feet were frozen and they had frostbites. When they woke up in the morning, their noses were so cold that they were bleeding. They tried to find some socks and hats to keep them warm at night.

They went knocking on their neighbours #8217; doors next street. Their neighbours were nice enough to give them not only hats and socks but gloves too. The Brians put on the hats, socks and gloves and asked the neighbours for a lighter to set up a campfire and cook dinner. There and then, the neighbours asked them to come in and share their own supper.

The next day they went to the mall in the afternoon. When they arrived at the mall, they first made sure to rent a moving van because they were thinking of buying beds. Then they went to Wal-Mart to buy two queen size beds as they needed warmer beds. They put the two beds in the van. Thank God they had the moving van.

When they got home they looked at the paper. They wanted to buy a new house. They found the new house. They bought it for $100.000. The house needed some renovations. They decided to do the renovations themselves. They needed new windows and they wanted to paint the house.

They went back to the mall and went straight to Home Depot and bought metal window frames, window glass, blinds and some white and black paint for the house. They wanted to paint the kitchen, the basement, the ceiling and doors in white. The rooms would have black walls and white ceilings.

The next day they started to paint and put the windows on. They painted all of the five bedrooms. It took them the whole morning. In the afternoon they painted the whole kitchen, the two bathrooms and all of the doors. In the evening they lied down to rest. That night they went out for dinner after they put the second coating all through the house because the smell of paint was too strong.

When they got back, they set up their two new queen beds in the basement. It was not that smelly. When they got up in the morning they made sure that the two coats were dry before they moved the two queen beds in their bedrooms.

The house was too dark at night so they needed to go back to Home Depot and get five lamps and five regular lights. When they got home they set up the lights. They needed to set up the living room in the basement, the family room and the office as well as the guest room.

And they lived for ever as one happy family.

The End.
